Apply to IASA

We are thrilled to welcome you to the International Academy of San Antonio! We’re here to make the application process as easy as possible. Follow the directions provided on this page, and give us a call if you have any questions.

Admissions Policy

The International Academy of San Antonio (IASA) does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarships, athletics, and other school-administered programs.

Admissions Requirements

Prospective students must submit a signed and completed application to be considered for our educational program. Kindergarten students do not need to be five years old by September 1 of the current school year; we are flexible. If a student has attended school previously, we also require a transcript of schoolwork, available standardized testing results, and at least one recommendation from the child’s previous school.

The International Academy of San Antonio accepts students whose overall performance conforms to the school’s mission and standards. In the case of third through fifth-grade candidates, we expect students to have a B average or higher with standardized testing results in the 75th percentile or better.

Admissions Process

All applications must include a $25 non-refundable application fee that will include a brief enrollment assessment. After receiving a prospective student’s completed application, recommendation, and records, the IASA Admissions Committee and/or head of school will conduct an interview with the child. We interview students in the order we receive their application.

The Admissions Committee may recommend exceptions to our standard acceptance criteria in special cases. Final approval of all admission matters rests with the head of school.

After our initial interview, prospective students will visit IASA with a parent or guardian for 30 minutes to one hour. The child’s visit to our school must demonstrate that he/she is socially, cognitively, emotionally, and physically ready to succeed in our learning environment. Once a student is accepted to IASA, the family must submit a signed enrollment contract and the family participation agreement and pay a $200 enrollment deposit within 10 days of the date of the acceptance letter. We will apply the deposit toward tuition costs.
