What is an international school?

There are over 300 international schools across the world. These private schools have a global, international focus with instruction in English and other languages. Staff members typically have international experience and/or backgrounds and often speak multiple languages. Students can expect a world-class curriculum in a creative and inspiring learning environment.

What curriculum will the International Academy of San Antonio use?

What are the school’s hours?

Our school day runs from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays and summer break.

How do you monitor student progress?

We give students a short benchmark assessment in math and reading during the application process to ensure every child is placed into a classroom environment in which they can thrive. We issue monthly progress reports on student academics, physical activity, and social/emotional learning goals and offer upper-elementary students nationally-recognized assessments to measure their progress in comparison to their peers.

How many spaces are available?

IASA has 100 spaces in grades K–5 available for the 2019–2020 school year. We will add one grade each year until we develop classrooms for kindergarten through eighth graders.

Where is IASA located?

The International School of San Antonio currently meets in the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Campus of the Jewish Community of San Antonio. We occupy two floors within the building and make use of the facility’s recreational spaces and meeting rooms. Note: While located inside of the Weinberg Campus, we are not a Jewish day school or charter school. IASA is a private school with selected enrollment.

Is there before-school and/or after-school care available?

Yes. Before-school care (7:30 to 8:00 a.m.) is included in the cost of tuition. After-school care is available from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. for an additional fee through the Jewish Community Center (JCC) after-school program that serves students from multiple schools in the surrounding area.

Can I come for a visit?

We invite all interested families to an admissions open house where we explain our admissions process and offer tours of our campus. Parents may also call the school and schedule a tour at their convenience. Please view our Calendar page for upcoming open house dates.

How much is tuition?

Full tuition is $12,000 per year. We offer payment plans and partial, limited scholarships for students of families who demonstrate financial need. Learn more about the financial investment of private schooling on our Tuition and Fees page.

Who is BRAINATION, Inc.?

BRAINATION, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located in San Antonio, Texas. Founded in 1998, BRAINATION operates ten schools across Texas in a variety of settings, including the Anne Frank Inspire Academy in San Antonio. The International Academy of San Antonio is BRAINATION’s third private school.
